Colchester Community Funeral Home offers a full line of services from traditional to cremation, and a range of products including traditional caskets, cremation rental caskets, various urn styles, keepsake urns and jewellery. Full-service with “Live Webcasting” is offered, the first in Truro. Our competitive pricing better reflects the costs for actual services rendered. FUNERAL SERVICES
A wide range of possibilities is available for families to select from regarding the funeral service. These range from the traditional religious centered settings, held either at the Funeral Home, Church of preference or at graveside, to more casual contemporary or non-religious contexts involving visitation/ reception/open mic settings.

CREMATION SERVICES
Choices for memorial services include the same full service traditional or contemporary settings, which may be held either at the Funeral Home, Church of preference or cemetery, to the more casual contemporary or non-religious memorial contexts involving visitation/ reception/open mic settings. For those who desire no time of memorial, the provision of cremation services only involves just care of the remains and accompanying documentation required.

FUNERAL WEBCASTING
Colchester Community Funeral Home is the first in Colchester County to provide funeral webcasting directly from the funeral home. Often there are family members and guests that can’t make the service. One can visit our website and view the funeral service via funeral webcasting. Services are “Webcasted” if the family request it.

ONLINE TRIBUTES
Technological advances now allow for the videotaping of all services held at the funeral home as a courtesy for every family. As well, webcasting of the service in “real-time” allows for those unable to attend the service or following the service time, at their own convenience to do so by simply going online where they can obtain this provision. Availability of this service can be achieved from anywhere in the world.

RECEPTION CATERING
Facility accommodation for catering for either funerals, memorial services or visitations is available either from the local Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary or from area Church Women’s Auxiliaries as desired. These arrangements can be made during the time of funeral planning.

PRE-PLANNING
One of the most caring, loving things you can do for your family is to leave detailed information which permits them to make the funeral service a personal tribute in keeping with the way you wanted. Learn more

Our Facilities

We pride ourselves on the functionality and appearance of our facilities. We are constantly updating and improving our premises and equipment to keep our facility within the highest of professional standards.

Whether it is our Chapel, Visitation Rooms, Coffee Lounge, or Reception Facilities, the flexibility of our layout allows us to accommodate a broad range of services. Our facilities can support everything from very large assemblies to the smallest of quaint gatherings.

The funeral is an important opportunity to pay tribute to someone you loved. It is a time for relatives and friends to gather and to tell stories, to share memories, to acknowledge your loss and support one another. We are open-minded in providing a more personal arrangement to suit your needs and reflect the life of your loved one. We’ve worked hard to make the surroundings as comforting as possible, for you during this difficult time.

We can accommodate up to 182 guests in our main chapel, with allowance for 59 in our family room, 50 in our downstairs kitchen (with video screen to watch service), 20 in the front office, and 50 in our foyer for a total accommodation of up to 340 guests.

CHAPEL
Although our chapel is not intended to compete against the reverence and respect of the church, it has been tastefully designed as an option for those who do not wish a formal church setting. Conveniently located within the funeral home, it provides a dignified setting for family, friends and the community to gather together and pay tribute to the deceased.

COFFEE LOUNGE
The coffee lounge provides a welcome break to collect your thoughts or reminisce with others. There is always hot coffee and refreshments waiting for you. We would like you to feel comfortable when receiving friends and family at the time of loss. Our home is yours. Our staff will ensure that your family and friends are treated with the hospitality that you would extend in a less difficult and emotional time in your own home.
